Bringing Baby Home Workshop

Learn the strategies and skills to make a successful transition to parenthood.

Even the strongest relationships are strained during the transition to parenthood. Lack of sleep, never-ending housework and new fiscal concerns can lead to profound stress and a decline in marital satisfaction — all of which affect baby’s care and the overall mental health of both partners. Not surprisingly, 67% of new parents experience conflict, disappointment and hurt feelings.
This research-based Bringing Baby Home workshop prepares couples for life with baby and helps them be the best parenting team possible. In a relaxed and supportive environment, parents learn to strengthen their relationship and foster baby’s development during this challenging time. They build on what Dr. Gottman and colleagues found is the best predictor of marital adjustment after baby arrives: the quality of friendship in the marriage. Come learn the skills needed to encourage healthy, supportive family relationships.”

The Mommy Tribe: It Takes A Village

Peer to Peer Support & Process Group

Motherhood is many things to many moms. It is one of the most important and hardest jobs there is. It can bring joy, immense love and purpose amongst other amazing things. After all, being able to hold the title of being a mother is truly a blessing. However, being a mother can also be met with states of depressed mood, increased anxiety, fatigue, grief and loss of identity, career shifts, role transitions, changes in relationships amongst other changes women undergo when becoming a mother. When a woman becomes a mother she is changed from her core to her outer being. Many people shy away from discussing this side of motherhood…leaving many to wear a mask constantly leading to feelings of isolation and failure ("I'm the only mom going through this..."). This group aims to provide a safe space to discuss the unpopular truths of motherhood while also normalizing and providing support and helpful tools to assist with being your best self which will in turn help you to be a holistically healthy and present for yourself, baby, partner, etc. Having a community while traveling this road of motherhood makes all the difference. That is why therapist Kim LO, LCSW created The Mommy Tribe: It Takes A Village Support & Process Group! We hope you will join our village!
