Bringing Baby Home Workshop

A workshop for couples with a new baby (on the way).

Even the strongest relationships are strained during the transition to parenthood. Lack of sleep, never-ending housework and new fiscal concerns can lead to profound stress and a decline in marital satisfaction — all of which affect baby’s care. Not surprisingly, 67% of new parents experience conflict, disappointment and hurt feelings.
This research-based Bringing Baby Home workshop prepares couples for life with baby and helps them be the best parenting team possible. In a relaxed and supportive environment, parents learn to strengthen their relationship and foster baby’s development during this challenging time. They build on what Dr. Gottman and colleagues found is the best predictor of marital adjustment after baby arrives: the quality of friendship in the marriage. Come learn the skills needed to encourage healthy, supportive family relationships.”

The Mommy Tribe: It Takes A Village

Peer to Peer Support & Process Group

Motherhood is many things to many moms. It is one of the most important and hardest jobs there is. It can bring joy, immense love and purpose amongst other amazing things. After all, being able to hold the title of being a mother is truly a blessing. However, being a mother can also be met with states of depressed mood, increased anxiety, fatigue and it can alter everything and every relationship that existed previously. When a woman becomes a mother she is changed from her core to her outer being. Many people shy away from discussing this side of motherhood…leaving many to wear a mask constantly leading to feelings of isolation and failure (“mom guilt”). This group aims to shed light on the unpopular truths of motherhood and create a safe space to discuss these things while also instilling hope. Having a community while traveling this road of life in motherhood makes all the difference. That is why therapist Kim LO created The Mommy Tribe: It Takes A Village Support & Process Group! We hope you will join our village!
